Sound bar is automatically switching to DEMO mode. LG Customer service has asked me to call a local technician to fix it as its out of warranty. Its only 1.5 years old. No more LG products for me. Dont want to lose any more money to spend on something that barely works for 1 year.

Bad Subwoofer

I bought the LG - 3.1-Channel 420W Soundbar with Wireless Subwoofer and DTS Virtual:X with LG 65 Class Nanocell 85 series 3 years ago. I used the subwoofer for a couple months then I decided to disconnect it to stop bother my neighbor because I was leaving in an apartment. Now I moved into my house and since 2 weeks I am trying to connect the subwoofer it connects for few seconds and then disconnect. I already watch a lot of video on YouTube trying to fix the issue but still not working. This is just a waste of money. I will not recommend this product to anyone

Sound bar failing like so many others here

Like so many others here the sound now drops off on our sound bar around 20 minutes in and needs to be shut off and back on giving us another 20 minutes of use. I bought this as I have an LG 65 inch TV and thought this would be the best sound option to pair with it. Its frustrating feeling like I just threw away money as reading these reviews leads me to believe that is what I actually did. No one has posted back reporting LG coming through for them with resolution so it seems its time to move on from LG products.

Unfortunately the LG SN6Y Soundbar lasted less than a year for me. I have suffered the same fate many other LG Soundar users have-volume fade after twenty minutes or so of use. You must turn the Soundar off and on again so it works for another twenty minutes before the same issue occurs. This is a common issue. LG is well aware unfortunately the chat support staff have been less than helpful even advising me to seek help from Best Buy or Walmart repair. Overall I was expecting better of an LG product and LG as a company. They should do the right thing to support their customer base by replacing/repairing the failed unit at no charge. Count me among those who will not buy another LG product.

LG sound bar is just over 1 year old i.e. outside of limited warranty and it wont work due to MUTE issue. Even with dedicated help from LG Customer Service attempts to resolve the lack of sound from the LG Sound Bar nothing worked in removing the MUTE program. I bought a new HDMI chord hoping that would eliminate the MUTE problem but the new chord did not restore the sound.

Non-functioning sound bar

The LG Soundbar will not accept the sound from the LG television. The mute icon appears on the TV screen and it cannot be removed. I spoke at length with LG Customer Service and the kind lady was unable to eliminate the mute situation. I bought a new HDMI chord but the new chord did not eliminate the mute issue. The 1 year limited warranty has expired so I now own a non-functioning LG Sound Bar. Extremely disappointed in this product.

Broken soundbar - horrendous customer service

Cant my TV in NJ 2/18/2024

My soundbar worked great for about 18 months. After that it broke. I tried to get a new soundbar but was told that I was out of luck because my warranty was only valid for 12-months. The exact issue which impacted my soundbar has impacted hundreds of others and has resulted in many lost customers to LG. I know this because there are forums on Reddit dedicated to it. Didnt last very long

Unfortunately the LG SN6Y soundbar didnt last but a year and half. I purchased this LG soundbar to work with my LG 55 flatscreen tv thinking it would work best together. However I have suffered the same fate many other LG soundbar users have-volume fade after twenty minutes or so of use. Must turn off and on again so it works for another twenty minutes before the same issue occurs. This is a common issue LG is well aware of that happens to occur most often just after the warranty expires from the many reviews I have read. Poorly performing soundbar

The soundbar performed great for two years. After two years it broke. The soundbar drops in volume every 30 minutes. In order to restore the volume I must turn it off and then power it back on. I need to do this every 30 minutes. Upon searching the internet I learned this problem has been widespread. It disappoints me that LG has not fixed it. I am working with LGs presidential liaison team to fix this - but the service from the presidential liaison team has been very disappointing. Poor communication and very poor responsiveness. Sorry to deliver the negative review but I hope the sincere feedback is helpful

Worked great till subwoofer gave out

This product worked for about a year. Subwoofer was an issue and by what I have Reserach it was a software upgrade that it did automatically for the subwoofer. Unfortunately the subwoofer does not currently work and has not for the last year. Cant get it repaired and this website only allows questions for Iraq Jordan and one other country. This is very disappointing and it was great when it worked but it doesnt anymore. Due to a software update that cant be flashed on the subwoofer system. Soundbar still works but subwoofer is no good and doesnt power on. Look it up on YouTube plenty of people repairing them but I dont have the equipment so never again LG.

Sound was great until it stopped working

Worked good at first and the sound was great. Unfortunately the subwoofer stopped connecting and regardless of all the troubleshooting in the world and even contacting customer service it never worked again and was never offered a replacement. Was just told to take it to a shop and get it fixed at my expense. Paid a lot for this item and cant really keep spending money on fixing it especially when the fix is almost as much as getting a new one

NO WONDER DISCONTINUED $300+ down the drain.

Product was great for all but 1 year and a half. Purchased a 65 inch LG nano cell TV with an LG soundbar to match in May of 22.. One day all of a sudden the soundbar went into DEMO mode randomly that was the beginning of the end. Watched and read numerous tutorials had pointless trouble shoot conversations with LG tech/customer support that lead to no resolution. Soundbar either immediately or randomly goes into DEMO mode plays the same annoying generic song and stops playing whats on the TV. LG absolutely no help wants me to bring to a repair facility and pay for repairs or purchase new sound bar.

Defective product/Poor customer service

LG customer service is absolutely awful and I wouldnt recommend there products to anyone. I bought my sound bar about two years ago and within the first year the subwoofer stopped working completely. I ignored that and kept using just the sound bar. Earlier this year the sound bar itself started to act up. Within 10 minutes of using it each time the sound would drop dramatically. We would tuen it off and tuen it back on and it would work for all of 10 minutes and the sound would drop dramatically again. Turning the volume up more did not help the sound. When I reached out to LG they would not replace the sound bar because it has been over a year since I purchased it. I only had it for two years and the whole system basically stopped working. After doing research I found that it is very common for this model to have these issues. So LG basically made a product that has issues and wont help the customer by replacing it. LG does not stand by their products and obviously dont care that they sell defective products to their customers. I will never buy another LG product after what I experienced with this sound bar and customer service.

I bought this 3 years ago and the subwoofer failed twice. The second time it was out of warranty and they did replace it so that was nice but now we are on year 3 and the main unit failed. I called LG support and they said I can try a new power supply so now I am waiting for that to come in. I only gave 2 stars since they customer service reps were friendly.

I have had this sound bar for 2 years and how the sound level and quality drops by 1/2 at any time regardless of input. I have to turn it off and on which resets it. I will look into having it repaired but I doubt that will be successful at a reasonable cost.

I have a similar issue to others. The volume works fine for 30ish minutes and then suddenly drops out. The only way to fix the issue is to turn off the soundbar and turn it back on. Its incredibly frustrating that this happens and LG has no way of actually fixing the problem and since these issues only happen outside of the warranty window they are not responsible. Hopefully they understand who will be responsible when people stop buying their things and they eventually go out of business.

I wish I could give and extremely poor rating. Stay away from this system. . Paired the LG TV all was fine. 3 months later I paired to my phone and the subwoofer dies. The sub still has a solid green light indicating that it is paired to the sound bar but yet there no sound. Ive tried all the so called fixes found on the internet but with no success. I have LG products everywhere in my home but this item is headed for the dumpster.

In exactly the same situation as many who purchased this sound bar/sub combo. I purchased mine December 9th of 2020. Initially the sound bar/sub connection would drop and have to be reset. Last month the sub died and will not even power up. Called customer server they couldnt do anything for me stating the warranty. Ive been a long LG customer and never had any problems with any of their products until this purchase. Very disappointed to say the least.

Subwoofer constantly disconnects have to do hard resets constantly should have returned it sooner past return date should have warranty sooner. I dont I just think it should work seemlessly. Now the subwoofer doesnt turn on at all. So I left with a tin sounding sound bar. Wish I would have known sooner I would have went with something else.

I bought this sound bar with subwoofer 2 years ago assuming it would last at the least 5 years. I am hard of hearing and bought the unit with subwoofer to enhance tv viewing for me. Unfortunately a couple months ago I realized the subwoofer wasnt working no green or red light in the back of the unit. After multiple attempts to reconnect I reached out to LG customer support for assistance on 2 occasions. They ended up telling me I should have purchased an extended warranty. Customer support was not helpful. The outside technician they referred me to was rude and not helpful. I didnt purchase an extended warranty because I trusted LG to make a product that would last longer than 2 years. Now I am left with a working sound bar only.

Disappointed Comm Tech 1/16/2023

Very shortly after the warranty expired the subwoofer Sbn5B-W ceased working. I have a technicians diploma so I investigated. A power supply failure became obvious as the cause. Looking for a schematic I found the discussion forums were alive with users having issues that appear to be identical to mine. An email to the president has yielded no results as yet. No schematic is available LG recommends replacement of the entire EBR89625801 board which appears to be common throughout the entire series of LG sound bar subwoofers. After I complete this review I intend to see if I can get a replacement power supply/amplifier board from LG customer service.

Subwoofer died within 2 years

In about 18 months the subwoofer stopped working. Have continuously been trying to reset the system but no luck. Unfortunately going to have to buy a whole new system as the cost of repair is not practical. Disappointing.
