We needed a new refrigerator, but had to have certain dimensions, for height, width, and length. We like the lighting, which helps us see what is what, in every spot inside. If there is a down side, it is when we compare the space inside, to our previous refrigerator. We were able to pack more into our old model, which could be good or bad ... depending on what a refrigerator/freezer should hold.

I'm happy with the product overall, and the experience of purchasing it on line. It's ideal for our condo in Florida, it blends nicely into our kitchen, it's quiet, and it's functional. My only complaint is the shelving. My wife wanted to move one of the shelves up to a higher level, but we tried and couldn't do it. There was no mention of how to move the shelving in the papers we received with it.. So, I went to Home Depot and enlisted the aid of a salesperson, but he was also baffled by it. He concluded that the shelving cannot be moved. I next contacted the manufacturer and the person I spoke with said she had no idea how to do it, because her materials don't address the subject. Then I asked our neighbor for help, who is a bit of a handyman, and he too was baffled by it. Later, however, he told us he'd finally figured it out, and he demonstrated what we needed to do. All of our time and trouble could have been avoided if the papers that came with the refrigerator included instructions on how to move the shelving. This would appear to me to be a basic element of the information provided to the purchasers. The ultimate answer seemed to me to be a bit of a trick that the average person could never figure out on his own. Not a good thing for your product.

Our new Amana refrigerator is a dream machine, perfect for our vacation home on Cape Cod. It's design is sleek and modern with just the right contrast of simple curves and lines to enhance our beach house kitchen. The water and ice dispenser is beautifully designed flush into the front refrigerator panel and it is easy to use. This Amana refrigerator is extremely quiet with no load humming or distracting ice making noises. The water filter is easily accessible at the front bottom of the refrigerator, so replacement is no problem. The inside of the refrigerator is brightly lit with directional controls placed for easy temperature adjustments. The freezer accomplishes exactly its purpose, preserving frozen foods with no over-icing and ultimately maintaining the desired food tastes. The refrigerator's inside panels are structurally sound while shelving, trays, and bins are sturdy with a clean design, incorporating glass panels for visual enhancement of food placement and storage. Overall we have been pleased with our Amana Side by Side. Perfect size for our kitchen. It is hard to find a stainless steel side by side that is short enough. Wish the freezer was bigger, but it is to be expected with side by sides at this height. Only complaint is we can't let the ice maker get too full or the ice dispenser jams up and it won't kick out ice, cubed or crushed.

We live in a house which is 137years old. The kitchen was built for servants who cooked on a wood stove and food was kept in an ice box. Our new refrigerator was one of very few which would fit in the space available. So far every aspect of use has been excellent.

Wow! The ice and water in the door has changed our life style. Easy access means more water drinking by everyone and less of the caffeine and sugar drinks! The roomy refrigerator and well organized freezer are improvements to our life too!

I really wanted a side by side or so I thought. This was the only size that would fit in the space I had without renovating my entire kitchen. I am a bit disappointed with the amount of space. The drawers at the bottom are a bit large and could have the top one split to have a small cold cut drawer. The ice maker is very slow. There are only two of us in the house and it doesn't seem to ever get full, so if company is expected I have to buy ice. The door shelves in the freezer are small (visualize the size of 2 1lb sticks of butter). It has space for an extra shelve and I thought I was shorted one, but contacted Amana and had to buy the extra shelve for about $50. Overall I was disappointed with the amount of space my smaller upright fit much more. (18cu ft). If I were to purchase another, I would get a traditional upright with an ice maker.

It is what I wanted and it works perfectly. . .the freezer keeps things frozen and the refrigerator keep things nearly frozen (that's the way I keep the temperature set, because that's how I like it. The price was right and I'm happy with the purchase!

The freezer is very narrow and it takes some getting used too to get things out. I am very happy with dispensers in the door. The water and ice choices work nicely.

I love the convenience of the side by side. Great storage space in the door, and it's so quiet. Having the in-door water and ice dispenser is a real money saver. No more opening the door to access the water jug, or get ice. Love the smooth finish too, easy to clean. Very happy with my purchase, and would definitely recommend this fridge.

We are pleased with the side by side. In the household we have one that likes cold water, 2 that like crushed ice with water, and 2 that like the cubed ice. As for the cubed ice, it seems that it takes very little time for the ice maker to replenish. We shopped around and compared, and this was a good value. It is also a quiet appliance.

Have had about a month and am pleased. The freezer is a little smaller but the refrigerator is larger than the one we replaced and works out very well for us. The reviews I read before purchase said the ice dispenser throws ice and that's putting it mildly but I'm getting better at controlling it. The lighting is excellent and I am very pleased with the internal shelves and the ones in the door. Well worth the money.

Our new refrigerator/freezer has many nice features--it's refrigerator compartment is efficiently laid out, with ample fresh produce drawers. Operation and insulation of both compartments is so efficient that we seldom hear it come on--and then it is much quieter than our old model. About the only thing we would have done differently is to not get the ice maker/dispenser--we do use the filtered water feature frequently, but teh apparatus takes so much room that the freezer compartment is limited in size.
