Energy-Saving Appliance Manufacturers Make Hay While Power Tariffs Soar
With Delhi power tariffs shooting off the roof since July 1, 2012 star-rated and energy efficientappliances for home and industrial use are witnessing a high growth trajectory. Assocham has recently conducted a survey to check if Delhi Electricity Regulatory Commission (DERC's) recent move to allow electricity distribution companies in the city to raise the domestic, commercial and industrial power tariffs by 24.15%, 19.49% and 20.2%, respectively, has had any effect on the sales of energy efficient appliances and consumer durables.
