With spring finally in the air, you should include your air-conditioner as part of your spring cleaning. A little pre-season maintenance will keep you cool and your unit operating smoothly -- even in the dog days of summer.
Your air conditioner's condenser and evaporator coils should be cleaned pre-season to help it run efficiently.
Start outside at the unit, by removing the back grille to expose the evaporator coils. vacuum coils to remove dirt and debis. Straighten any bent coils and replace the cover. Make sure landscaping or decor doesn't block air flow.
Inside, remove the front grille of the unit to expose the condensor coils. Use a vacuum to remove dirt and debris on the coils. Again, be sure to straighten any bent coil fins and replace the filter and front grille.
With that, your air-conditioning unit will run more efficiently throughout the season.
